1. Explain the factors which lead the current Congress to focus on health care reform. Previous Congress' had done so as well. Why did they fail? What factors are likely to lead to its sucess or failure?
2. Discuss the path that the current health care bill has taken through Congress. Focus specifically on the actions of each of the five committees that have passed verisons of the bill. What are the current disputes regarding the content of the bill?
3. One reason why members of Congress may or may not decide to vote for health care legislation is that it may affect their reelection chances in 2010, or whenever they are up for reelection. Discuss how much next years' election may impact the composition of health care reform?
